About a week ago, me and my studio mates went to Langkawi Island for a study trip on our final project. This time our task is to design a boutique hotel with a standard of 3 star rating. Our submission date is on 26th Mac 2015 which was on my dad’s birthday. I have to do the best on this project because next semester will be practical which is also terrifying everytime I think about it. gosh. Anyway I haven’t been to Langkawi Island for almost 5-6 years I think. That is why I was a little excited going on this trip. In the end, I wasn’t having as much fun as I thought I would because it’s a study trip. We didn’t actually went there for a vacation. Though I was hoping for a cable car ride but didn’t get the chance. maybe next time lol. My first impression of Langkawi Island when I arrived there would be “my god, the sea is so beautiful”. I noticed that there were a lot of new building development. Just saying but the hotel that we stayed in has the worst sea view lol. It is all because the hotel was so close to the construction site but whatever. The first night at Langkawi Island, we had rooftop dinner. That was cool because it is my first experience eating in that kind of atmosphere plus we get to enjoy the view of sunrise and sunset whenever we want from there.
Just so you know, I was in a lot of pain during this trip because few days before I bought a new pair of shoes because my old shoes are just a disaster to look at. The thing with new shoes is that you need to kind of break in a few days earlier so that you’ll be comfortable wearing it on the trip. I didn’t get that chance so what happened was, I got blisters on my feet and the pain was just unbearable, lol.
Yes, we did get to visit few hotel and resort but the one that I love the most was Langkawi Lagoon Resort. Beautiful rooms with nice sea/ocean view which is something that I love the most about resorts. Basically I love the whole concept of the resort which was a mix malay and bali architecture. The truth is, that was the only place that I was proud to share here on my blog. the other places that I visited was just a little below average level for me. sorry. I do wish we got a chance to visit Rebak Island Resort but our applications we rejected at the last minute. we were literally waiting at the jetty when suddently a guy came and told my lecturer about the bad news.
Here are some of the pictures I took when I was there. But before that, another truth that I would love to share would be, if I had to choose between Langkawi Island or Tioman Island, I would choose Tioman Island without a doubt. I like it better there because the island is smaller, there aren’t many cars and because when I’m there I feel like I’m actually on an island. does that make sense lol idk. here it goes.
